Au Sable: A great adventure
Taking one course at Au Sable is enough to put any person in awe of God's great earth. I've had the opportunity to take more than one course and believe me, it's been amazing. The people there are incredible. The administrators work hard to incorporate faith and learning. I'll tell you something; humans haven't been doing their job at maintaining our wildlife. That's another post at another time. Anyways, this year at Au Sable there were four Canadians. You could definitely tell the cultural differences. It was a blast getting to know each and every person at the institute, even those who I didn't get to talk to as much. A hard thing I learned at Au Sable is the fact that environmental issues aren't dealt with in churches like they ought to be. Church and nature are often thought as separate. This view is blatantly wrong according to the Word. I'm not bashing churches at all, but we are clearly instructed to be stewards of our environment. It's definitely something to think about. There are many private Christian colleges that are starting a "green" revolution. It's pretty sweet to hear about it happening. Something needs to be done to better the awareness of people to the environment. It's not just one more thing to think about, it's imperative we think about it.
